HRDO conducts orientation to IPB employees

The Human Resources Development Office (HRDO) of UPLB, through the Institute of Plant Breeding (IPB) Seminar Committee, conducted an orientation on rules, regulations, and employee benefits to over a hundred employees of the institute held on March 21, 2024, at the IPB seminar room.

Mr. Vladimir G. Amatorio, head of the Recruitment, Selection and Appointment Section, discussed the overall processes and timeline of filling vacant administrative, faculty, and research, extension and professional staff (REPS) items. His presentation also included updates on the documentary requirements for REPS primary appointments and additional project assignments.

On the other hand, Mr. Ammiel V. Talatala, head of the Employee Benefits Section, elaborated on the basis, types, and qualifications for monetary benefits and leave privileges that government employees enjoy. He also promoted the use of digital platforms such as GSIS Touch, Virtual Pag-IBIG, and PhilHealth Konsulta for checking members’ records and availing of government services. In addition, he also explained the benefits one may avail of after unforeseen events that may lead to their separation from service (permanent disability or death) or retirement. Aside from the statutory entitlements, Mr. Talatala also underscored the additional avenues for incentivization through recognition by the university, government, and other national and international award-giving bodies.

Lastly, Mr. Ricardo Amiel V. Reveche, supervising administrative officer, highlighted good work ethics that a government employee must possess and uphold. During the open forum, IPB personnel got the chance to raise their concerns and clarify relevant matters. This informative discourse was the second part of the daylong seminar for the personal and professional development of IPB staff. (Ricky Bryan U. Biagtan)
